The Police were a British rock band from London, which was formed in 1977.
The band consists of:
1. Sting (vokal, gitar bass),
2. Andy Summers (gitar, vokal)
3. Stewart Copeland (drum, vokal, perkusi).
The Police became popular in the late 1970s
and generally regarded as one of the first group of New WaveYang achieve mainstream success,
play rock style influenced by jazz, punk and reggae music.
Their 1983 album, Synchronicity, was number one in Britain and the United States
and sold more than 8 million copies in the United States. The banddisbanded in 1984,
but reunited in early 2007 to tour Around the world and lasted until August 2008.
